AES Toronto Section – Anomalous Audio Capture and Analysis – Online with Mark L. Cowden
Join the AES Toronto Section for Anomalous Audio Capture and Analysis with Mark L. Cowden. Mark will be discussing the topic of audio recording, analysis and processing as used in anomalous investigation, apparent haunted locations and during the filming of television shows covering this topic. There will be a brief introduction to the history of this type of recording, including Thomas Edison’s “Spirit Phone,” Friedrich Jurgenson’s accidental recordings of his late wife and the work of Uppsola University psychologist Konstantin Raudive. This will be followed by Mark’s entry into audio/visual production in 2003, working in a haunted studio and ultimately ending up as a cast member of a BBC TV show documenting Ireland’s most haunted locations. Clips of the TV show will be shown, demonstrating audio recording of anomalous phenomena with details on the technology, methods and processing used for obtaining the evidence shown in each clip.
Time above listed in event local time.
