An Embedded Hardware Engineer is required to design and develop electronic hardware and firmware for a successful and growing manufacturer of loudspeaker systems.

Our client is an established manufacturer of loudspeaker systems for the professional touring and installation sectors with headquarters and manufacturing in Canada and a solid global reputation for innovative products.

Job Description

You will be responsible for the design of analogue and digital embedded hardware and firmware for loudspeaker products working within an engineering team of electronics, software, acoustics, and mechanical engineers. You will design, prototype, and test embedded systems, taking responsibility of the design from concept through to manufacturing. You will manage, source, and select contract manufacturers, create BOMs and test specifications, assist with procurement, and manage all phases of the product lifecycle.


  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in electronics
  • Experienced in pcb design and able to use schematic capture, layout, and simulation tools
  • RTOS or LINUX firmware development in C
  • Experience of embedded test techniques, design for test and manufacturing, cost reduction, and risk management
  • A track record of successful products brought to market

Nice to haves

  • Experience with audio DSP
  • Experience with loudspeaker design
  • Experience of network programming, coding, and protocol handling
