You are a self-driven developer, enthusiastic about modern browser-based development. You have a good eye for UX, design and beautiful user interfaces. You write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and can empathise with less technical users. You are familiar with designing and maintaining REST APIs and have a good overall knowledge of cloud services.
The Role:
You will be working with a cross functional agile team to deliver customer facing web experiences, helping audio enthusiasts and professionals find and purchase the right products and connecting them to our ecosystem to get more value of their purchases.
You will help shape this ecosystem of hardware and software products ensuring consistency when moving between services.
You will contribute to designing the platform in a highly available, scalable, and observable way while continuously improving the user experience based on feedback.
Duties:
Write excellent, maintainable code, and take part in code reviews.
Work together with designers to implement beautiful and accessible user interfaces.
Implement features and fix bugs across the stack.
Discuss design and implementation details with the rest of the team.
Adopt modern development practices with the team.
Review pull requests from other team members.
Mentor to more junior members of the team.
Skills and experience required:
You have experience developing commercial web applications at scale.
You have 3+ years of experience with JavaScript (Typescript being a plus) You are proficient in a modern JavaScript framework (we use React and Node).
You have developed REST APIs (and/or GraphQL).
You are familiar with web development tooling (webpack, npm, etc) You have experience with cloud services. We use AWS lambda, dynamo DB, API gateway extensively.
You’re a strong advocate for testing code and doing pair programming, You understand common web infrastructure tooling (CDN, databases, in memory caches, etc…).
You are familiar with git-based workflows (pull requests, rebasing, etc.). We use GitHub.
Experience of any of the following would be an advantage:
Good HTML/CSS knowledge
Experience with ecommerce and integrating with payment gateways A DevOps mindset (infrastructure as code, monitoring, etc) Experience working Experience with GraphQL
