Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Senior Transducer Engineer, the Transducer Test Engineer will support the research and development activities by performing measurements and assessments of high-performance transducers and loudspeaker systems across all product lines and research / technological exploration projects.
The role responsibilities are centered around performing high quality, reliable and repeatable measurements and ensuring consistency and clarity in the documented results.
The location is the Research and Development center of Bowers & Wilkins, one of the most successful producers of high-quality audio product in the world today. The Transducer Test Engineer will be part of the Acoustic Research Team. All necessary training on the tools and procedures will be provided.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performing, processing and documenting measurements of transducer & loudspeaker assemblies using the Klippel dB-Lab, Audio Precision APx and other systems available at SRE
  • Monitoring and improving measurement procedures, including supplying guidelines and instruction manuals
  • Supporting the definition of power tests and production test setups for transducers and complete loudspeaker systems
  • Storing, organizing and maintaining test results
  • Supporting Production and Quality Control in the implementation, execution, and documentation of test procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of loudspeaker drivers and systems
  •  Experience in audio / acoustics testing requirements
  • Good documentation, reporting and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with audio and electronics testing equipment (e.g., Klippel dB-Lab SoundCheck, Clio, MLSSA, REW)
  •  Understanding of production issues related to loudspeaker driver units
  • Experience and knowledge of fault-finding methods
  •  Understanding of power handling tests and fatigue failure
  • Experience in electroacoustic testing in anechoic and semianechoic chamber
  • Experience in subjective evaluation of audio systems
