This paper discusses the application of automatic gain control in low current, low voltage, small signal audio amplifiers. A brief explanation of normal AGC is presented followed by a discussion on amplified frequency controlled AGC, its attack and recovery time and the effects of this type of AGC on the frequency response of the amplifier.
