Regulated filters are often used in disk recording systems to prevent cutting of extreme high-frequency transients which may be impossible to play back. The paper describes a system utilizing an active Bessel-type filter in which the resistive components are varied by a pulse-width modulated square-wave signal of supersonic frequency.
