Methods for picking up quadraphonic sounds have not yet been investigated thoroughly. At present, four unidirectional microphones are being used. It is obvious, however, that some kind of quadraphonic one-point pick-up microphone will become necessary in the near future as was the stereophonic one-point pick-up microphone. In this paper, a microphone with four diaphragms whose principal axes are perpendicular to each other in a plane are studied by equivalent electric circuits of the vibrating system.
