This paper is presented to report on the progress made in the solution of a severe acoustic problem in a large church auditorium. For many years, it was very difficult to hear people speaking from the floor and balconies of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. The main auditorium of this church seats about four thousand people and has a volume of approximately one million cubic feet.
