AES New York Section – Meet The Makers of Immersive Machines

Join the AES NY Chapter for a live interview with the founders and lead software engineer of Immersive Machines, a New York-based startup. Best known for their flagship Dolby Atmos software, Immersive Master Pro, Immersive Machines is pushing the envelope in both the art and science of immersive music and sound. Hosted by Denise Barbarita.

Immersive technology offers significant benefits but also presents unique challenges. Hear from Product Director Nathaniel Reichman, Lead Software Engineer Bob Brown and Finance and Operations Director Al Houghton about what led to the creation of this new company at the intersection of Silicon Alley and audio tech.

This hybrid event, hosted by Dubway Studios and the AES NY Chapter, will be available both in-person and online. Tickets are available here… In-person attendees can join us at 6pm, March 19th at Dubway’s Studio A, 14 East 4th Street #602, New York, NY. Doors open at 5pm. Seating is limited! Join the Facebook Live here.

Nathaniel Reichman is a Grammy-nominated producer and mixer with over twenty years of experience in the audio industry. He is the immersive-music mixer at Dubway Studios, a re-recording mixer at Beatstreet NYC, and the audio producer for composer John Luther Adams. As co-founder of Immersive Machines, LLC, Nathaniel is creating new toolkits to aid in the production of Dolby Atmos™ content.

Bob Brown previously worked at Avid where he provided engineering insights and direction for Pro Tools, Sibelius, and Media Composer. While at Xperi, Bob served as architect for post production tools such as MDA Creator Pro Tools AAX plug-in, and MDA Control that enable complex workflows required for mixing immersive audio for feature films.

Since launching Dubway in the mid-80’s, Al Houghton has built a small recording studio into a full-fledged production facility. He opened the original Dubway in the Music Building at 584 Eighth Avenue. Word quickly spread about the lone engineer in a tiny studio who could conjure up amazing sounds using only one blown speaker and a beat-up four-track. Since those early days, Al has worked on countless projects, built the dazzling new Dubway studios, and continues to be an active musician on New York’s club scene
