The conference will examine the technical, industrial and social changes affecting audio education and training while also focusing on instructional resources, teaching methods, learning outcomes, technical operations, areas for research, and similar topics that are relevant to organizations and individuals who provide theoretical and practical training in all areas of audio engineering.
The 2013 and 2021 conferences generated papers on topics that included career and industry trends, methods for teaching listening, mixing and perception, program and curriculum design, and numerous case studies. Workshops and social events also provided opportunities for networking and professional development.
The aim of the AES 2023 International Conference on Audio Education conference is to build on this foundation with updated perspectives, current research about our evolving field and additional contributions from trainers, faculty, researchers, managers and practitioners. Its outcomes will include a collection of peer-reviewed papers, historical documents, survey instruments, international collaborations, and potential recommendations for educational resource management and development.
The scope is extraordinarily wide – expecting attendance from all over the world with an emphasis on Europe, from all types of education institutions including companies, from very diverse perspectives and disciplines – but tied together by a focus on education in topics related to audio.
Original contributions are encouraged in, but not limited to, the following topics:
