Important Travel Information

Important Travel Information for US Citizens:

All citizens of the United States and non-UK citizens are now required to have an ETA to travel to the United Kingdom.

ETA, or, Electronic Travel Authorization, will be operational from the start of April 2, 2025, forward.

All US Citizens and non-UK citizens will need to register for an ETA before traveling.

The new travel visa is valid for the United Kingdom only. As a U.S. citizen, this does not apply to Europe as a whole or those countries part of the Schengen Area.

With an ETA, you can:

  • Travel to the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, visiting family and friends, business or short-term study
  • Travel to the UK for up to 3 months on the Creative Worker visa concession
  • Travel to the UK for a permitted paid engagement
  • Transit through a UK airport if you will pass through border control – check with your airline if you are not sure.
