A modern video game audio system needs to be designed to generate high-quality, real-time interactive audio suitable for delivery on modern home sound systems. This paper discusses the audio hardware and software in Xbox(tm) , Microsoft`s future generation videogame system. First, the issues and problems of interactive audio are covered. Then, the paper will cover how the Xbox hardware and software presents solution to these unique audio challenges.
