This paper presents a methodology for the implementation of automated content-based searching (ACS) of digital music. The method proposed maps a pre-defined parameter space to a psychoacoustic perceptual space defined by musical experts. This mapping enables content-based searching of music in a single-ended fashion. The results are based on a corpus of music in excess of 115,000 songs.
