This paper presents a brief overview of some of the challenges now facing designers of high quality home audio equipment, based on the practical experiences of UK engineers working in the field. A number of practical suggestions for audio IC designers and vendors are proposed, which, if always carried out, would simplify the task of successfully incorporating these components into finished equipment.
