Computer-Aided Radio and Television Automation of On-the-Air Studios in Broadcast Facilities

The CARAT Studio is comprised of two systems: CARAT on-air control and CARAT digital-audio storage. The aim of the system is the simplification and rationalization of automatable processes in continuity studios and broadcasting facilities. The on-air control system assists the use of a program-controlling audio device, such as CARAT digital-audio storage or CD juke boxes, according to the broadcasting schedule. The digital-audio storage system is used to record and playback digital audio material which is stored on single hard discs or redundant hard-disc arrays. The built-in Local Area Network connection allows remote access to the audio data from archive systems or audio workstations.
