A method is described by which a variety of RC networks such as equalizers, filters, tone control, and coupling circuits can be reduced to two basic types. Frequency and phase characteristics are derived and reduced to their simplest graphical form. Generalized attenuation and phase curves are presented. Impedance matching, loading effects, and other limitations are discussed. Typical equalizer and tone control problems and their solutions are given.
