Internet Audio Quality and the Mushra Test

The interest of today`s people in broadcasting programmes is not just to listen or watch it, but also to browse among some information around it. A steadily growing amount of audio and video material is going to travel on the web. Permanent observations of development of new coding technologies are indispensable within a trade-off between quality and data rate. While modems and backbones are getting faster, they get loaded more and more by video files often leaving the space for audio as small as it was before. Preserving audio quality will remain an important task at least for public broadcasters.
