The radiation characteristics for a flat piston are well known due to the fact that an analytic solution exists for this configuration. Seldom does a true source act as a flat rigid piston. The radiation characteristics for an arbitrary source configuration can be obtained by numerically solving the Rayleigh integral. This paper will review the assumptions of this approach and describe the computer implementation and results. The directivity response, axial frequency response, and complex radiation impedance for various configurations will be shown.
