Electromechanical equipment, regardless of how well designed, is normally expected to meet its performance standards under the control of the operator, not the designer. The technical manual which accompanies the equipment is the designer`s only way of communicating the means of maintaining those performance standards. Thus, the documentation must be accurate, comprehensive, understandable, and well written. Techniques and a suggested format are presented to achieve this goal.
