To date, near field monitors have been designed as either multi-way, multiple driver systems or full range single driver systems and have suffered from the limitations of both designs. This paper describes the design goals, design methods and manufacturing techniques used to produce a coaxial, point source, near field reference monitor of under one cubic foot gross volume.
