Measurement of Reverberation Time Using a Microprocessor Audio Analyzer

Reverberation time was measured in several acoustically treated rooms in two ways by means of a portable microprocessor audio analyzer and by estimating the slope of the decay curves recorded by a logarithmic level recorder. A comparative analysis is made in order to evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of the two methods. The results found with the microprocessor were in almost all cases somewhat higher than those obtained by the ordinary method.
