Optimum Conditions of the Quantising Number of Bits and the Sampling Frequency for a Digital Transmission System with a Constant Bit Rate

Appropriate assignment of quantization number and transmission bandwidth is essential in designing digital transmission systems. This paper reports the evaluation experiments conducted using a number of programs to investigate the influence on the sound quality of the two parameters; S/N which is mainly determined by the quantization number and transmission bandwidth which gives the heard sound the best quality in a digital transmission system with a given transmission rate.
