The purpose is the modeling of a loudspeaker-microphone system, in order to reduce the number of parameters (in terms of signal-processing), compared to the length of the discrete impulse response. The attempt is to get rid of transducer effects in room acoustics measurements, and to control those for communication purposes. Several signal-processing methods are reviewed, each of them providing a pole-zero modeling, either of the system itself, or of its inverse. Some spectral and temporal criterions are proposed to compare those methods. Filtering performances are illustrated and discussed through an experimental study.
