A microprocessor based voice analysis instrument has been developed to extract pitch content from the human voice over the frequency range of 50 to 800 Hz. By using a unique digitizing technique, a high sampling rate is obtained guaranteeing accurate measurement of the fundamental frequency information in a given speech waveform. Through the use of hardware and software, unvoiced sounds which do not contribute to the pitch are removed. An on board computer provides various data display formats making the instrument useful as a speech therapy aid.
