Studies were conducted on loudspeaker parameters including transient response, damping, resonances and spurious radiation in direct and horn-type radiators under conditions of infinite baffle (anechoic) and other enclosure modes. Resonance modes in horns exclusive of driver resonances were studied also. These studies using step envelope tone bursts are intended to lead to and evaluate methods for controlling these phenomena in the production of practical loudspeakers, horns and enclosures.
