To realize natural and robust monitoring environment for a small room, two factors, bass management and surround loudspeaker layout must be considered. For small rooms, "Rec. ITU-R BS 775-1" can`t always give the best solution for its room acoustic design. The author introduces his practical ways of room acoustic design for small rooms, and also reports measurement/calculated data related with bass management and surrounds layout.
