Recent Developments in the Field of Condenser Microphones

The noise originating in the capacitive transducer can be reduced by decreasing the effective acoustic resistances. Lower harmonic distortion at high sound pressure levels can be achieved by means of a symmetrically designed transducer element. Special considerations taken into account in designing the microphone housing result in an improvement relative to its wind and popping sensitivity. The high frequency principle permits the expanding of the frequency response into the infrasound range; a simple internal calibration procedure can also be envisaged.
