Location of Loudspeakers in Sound Reinforcement Systems

A systemized method of choosing the proper location for a loudspeaker(s) in sound reinforcement systems is considered here. In an orderly series of physical measurements on the site or directly from new drawings, it can be determined in advance the acoustic gain required, the potential acoustic gain available from any location, and the effect that pertinent variables exert on the final result when the sound system is to be equalized. An electronic calculator programmed to solve the equations used will be demonstrated.
