It is described the development of a multichannel spatial audio auralization engine for a CAVE system, based on the adaptation of an image source acoustic simulator to an Ambisonics coder. It was conceived under the AUDIENCE system architecture, which addresses the main auralization phases in four stages: the scene description, the acoustic simulation, the sound field encoding, and the spatial audio decoding. The core coder admits as input the environment properties, the sources and listener positions. As output it generates a B-format impulse response set for final sound field encoding. The paper describes the engine implementation, some experimental tests, analyses results and future works.
