Measurement standards for high fidelity tuners and amplifiers were last issued by the Institute of High Fidelity in 1958 and 1966. Technological developments have rendered these standards obsolete, and the IHF is attempting to update them and formulate measurement standards for other component categories as well. New measurement requirements for tuners and amplifiers will be discussed, emphasizing their differences from the older standards.
