For remote and studio broadcast and recording applications a new portable mixer and line amplifier, combined with a high-quality compression system, is described. Features discussed include average-responding compression with peak-responding fast-attack circuit, gated memory to minimize -pumping- during pauses, adjustable time constant, feedback-type level controls, and ac or battery operation. A demonstration will be given.
