The quadraphonic recording is capable of more effective simulation of the live sound event than the monophonic and two-channel stereophonic methods, reproducing all sounds from their original directions around the listener to create an illusion of the original acoustical environment-studio, concert hall, etc. But, for widespread industry acceptance, this same quadraphonic recording must give equally good results as a stereo and a mono recording.
