The SCENE project aims to create a platform based on a data lake architecture to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among film production stakeholders. Within the overall functionality, the platform will provide access to 3D models of European cultural heritage locations, with lighting and audio simulation modules. The audio simulation module allows producers and sound designers to virtually experience the sound of a location, aiding in location scouting and sound design. Contributors can upload audio files and metadata to the data lake, while visitors can select locations, configure the positions of sound sources and listeners, and simulate audio responses using a browser-based GUI. The simulation module uses the provided audio files to offer ambisonic rendering for an immersive experience. Several simulation techniques are proposed, to provide the contributors with many options and encourage the growth of the available data. Initial recordings have been taken in Cyprus in several locations of cultural importance.
