A new power technology has been developed which has several advantages over present technologies in audio amplifier applications. The inherent properties of VMOS (vertical MOSFET) are discussed, as well as the differences between VMOS and the Japanese V-JFET. The design of a high quality VMOS power amplifier is then presented.
