Vibration in air and solids is closely related to the acoustical environment. The measurement technique for vibration on vibrating structures, such as diaphragms, walls, and enclosures will be discussed. Especially the errors introduced by loading the measuring object and the relevance of measuring acceleration-velocity or displacement are dealt with, as well as the fact that we most often quietly agree on using lumped parameters in vibration, while in acoustics one often deals with distributed pressure and wave motion.
