For the analysis of different multichannel systems, in particular of quadraphonic ones, the use of some simple equations, analog to the 2-channel "sinus-law" is of interest. The derivation of such equations is based on interaural time differences, with consideration of minute head movements. The equations for quadraphonic localization show good agreement with those obtained by other authors who based their deductions on sound-field analysis. Some possible applications of the equations, as the code of optimal directional patterns for quadraphonic sound pickup or the multichannel nonconventional techniques are described.
