A Programmable Control Device for Analog Synthesizers

A "player piano" type of programmable controller was developed for A.S.U.`s ARP 2600 synthesizer. However, the device was designed so that it could be interfaced with any analog controlled synthesizer. The machine consists of a modified chart recorder drive assembly with an optical reading head. The controller circuitry reads, translates, and transmits data from a machine score to the synthesizer. The machine score consists of coded chart recorder paper. Coding and modifying is easily performed.
