The piezoelectric momentum drive principle has been used successfully in several loudspeaker applications. The classic problem has always been coupling to the high impedance driver. A large conical diaphragm helps this situation, however, in a horn with a small throat area, phase cancellations occur. This new horn solves this problem with a throat opening in the shape of thin radial slots which flare open into tapered flutes, eliminating the need for a phase correction plug.
