Results of equations defining Q for those in practical electroacoustic design work are examined. Common application of these equations in various radiation and environment situations may lead to a disparity of several magnitudes between projected and actual performance. New equations are written to help close this gap. A simplified analysis of distributed speaker systems results in new equations of Q and Dc for the entire array. The need for determination of ratios of direct, early and late sound are demonstrated, with time delay spectrometry providing some insights into the actual field measurements of these parameters.
