Psychoacoustics of Sound Localization-A New Approach

Described experiments show that the effect of very slight head movements appears to be far more important than generally accepted. Used techniques permit a perfect synchronization and proportionality between model and head movements, even for almost imperceptible motion amplitude. The proposed theory emphasizes the need of three information channels (two acoustical and one motional) for correct tridimensional sound localization.
