Cross Interleave Code for Error Correction of Digital Audio Systems

A new error-correcting code named cross interleave code was developed for digital audio systems, and was applied to a digital audio disk system, in which the yield of disks greatly depends on correctability. In this paper, the theory and computer simulation of correctability are described.
