A deep dip of the sound pressure response, due to the interference of waves, is seen in the piston motion frequency range of the cone-type loudspeaker, and the dust cap is effective in reducing this dip. Calculations relating to the affect of the dust cap are carried out by the finite-element method, and show good agreement with the measurement.
