The availability of highly-reliable LSI circuitry has made possible a major breakthrough in disc recording lathe control technology. This paper will describe, and there will be demonstrated, a new system for optimizing the groove/land ratio, utilizing real-time two-dimension relationships derived from the audio waveform. This system, based on 12 years` experience with analog designs, achieves a significant advance in the time/level skill relationships of the phonograph disc when compared to all previous cutting equipment.
