Modern synthesis of loudspeaker systems need the knowledge of a set of fundamental parameters, which characterize the behavior of loudspeakers in the low frequency range.. At the theoretical point of view, the parameters are defined according to the electrical equivalent circuits of loudspeaker systems. In practice, the main problem which arises is their experimental determination. An interesting way to do it, is to measure the electrical input impedance o loudspeakers versus frequency under different acoustical conditions. This paper deals with the practical aspects of these measurements and the interpretation of their results. Firstly, the theory is quickly exposed and the fundamental assumptions are specified. Secondly, the measurement process is explained and the analysis of the results carried out to show the sources of errors and the consequences of the nonvalidity of the assumptions. And improved method is then proposed.
