After noting the importance which control rooms have assumed as the mixing locale of numerous sound tracks, some of which may have been recorded in other studios, the paper discusses the recommended acoustics of control rooms under the headings of -Shape of Room,- -Rear, Sidewall, and Ceiling Acoustic Treatment,- -Noise Level,- -Reverberation Time,- and -Loudspeaker Requirements for the Reproduction of Frequencies as low as 30 hertz.-
