Instrumentation has been developed that measures the impulse response of interior spaces. Lack of reverberance in certain frequency bands, highly structured echo patterns indicative of flutter or other undesirable characteristics may be revealed. The same equipment can be used to study scale models of the space and the effects of changes in geometries of the materials within the space.
