Greater channel separation from an otherwise standard quadraphonic disc is realized by the addition of complementary matrix signals modulated on sub-carriers. The use of single sideband modulation allows practically all the necessary quadraphonic information to be contained within a 25 kHz bandwidth which permits real-time lacquer cutting.
