From the fundamental pressure/time functions, this paper describes the different types of distortion appearing in loudspeakers. Special attention is paid to time and pitch distortion. Different mechanical solutions in loudspeaker driver design, and their influence on magnitude/time distortion are discussed. Some preliminary conclusions are drawn, though the paper proposes more questions than answers.
