Many present day hi-fi items such as 33-1/3 RPM Vinylite- records, 45°-45° stereo, wide frequency range, etc., were byproducts of telephone research at Bell laboratories in the 1920`s and 1930`s. A brief history of this work will be given and a demonstration of some of the Stokowski Philadelphia Orchestra recordings of 1931-1932 will be given.
