A two-dimensional Fourier series analysis was performed, which revealed the precise spectral bandwidth for a three-level pulse-width modulation system. An optimum carrier frequency was determined by careful observation of the spectral bandwidth and the passband requirements. A method of signal conversion called SDA signal generation was developed and found to be highly effectively in maintaining high speeds and large signal-to-noise ratios in the system. An error analysis was performed on the SDA method to determine the necessary device specifications for a given system performance.
